1. Reconnect with Your Loved Ones

With hectic jobs and never-ending targets to achieve, we hardly find time to connect with our loved ones. In this digital age, most of us prefer to send a WhatsApp message, which is most of the time TTYL (Talk to later) to our loved ones or prefers to talk to them through messages on special occasions like birthday and wedding anniversaries only. In fact, at times, we do not remember the special dates as well. We might not understand initially, but in the long run, it starts impacting most of the relations, and thus, we end up distancing from the people, who, at times, were very close to us.

Make the most of this Quarantine. This is the best time to catch up with all those people who you have ignored for the longest. Though you can’t visit them personally, you can surely give them a phone call and make them realize how much you value them. You can even prefer video calling to get the vibe that you are with them. 

However, if you are a person who finds it hard to communicate verbally, then you can always resort to letters. Yes, in this day and age, when we have all the tools to connect, letters have their charm. You can start writing one letter daily to your loved ones and send them later. Or else you can invest your precious time and energy into a journal. A journal will help you to maintain harmony with your life. Also, writing is therapeutic at times.

2. Set Short Term Goals for yourself and try to achieve them

Ever since we have been growing up, we have been taught to make long term goals to make a successful career and enjoy life later. While deciding for our career and other most relevant things, we at times forgot to live life or to do something that makes us happy. While we all are lockdown at home, this is the best time to jot down all the things that we ever wanted to do, or we would love to do. For example, if you love cooking, you can take an online course or watch relevant videos to become a master.

Or, you can take any online course that you have wanted for the longest. Online websites such as Coursera, Udemi, and many more to name, offer an online course for free and paid. You can go through the site and get yourself enrolled in any of your favorite course. This would be the best way to enhance your skills and add on to your CV. Or, else, you can simply pick up a new language that would also help you grow as a person and add to your personality development.

Alternatively, if you have been avid history lover, you can watch the history of the world and our country on channels like History TV 18; similarly, if you like adventure activities, then do watch Man vs. Wild. Or how about fixing the old watch or a toaster?

It would suffice your liking towards engineering that you ever had. Also, it is an ideal time to have a tab on your budget and expenses.

3. Clean Up your Messy Email Box

Undoubtedly, this is one of the best things to do during Quarantine at home. In our regular ends, we hardly find time to go through our emails and filter them, and as a result, they get clogged. Since now you have spare time at home, you can go through all your emails and delete unwanted emails.

You can start by labeling the important email. This feature is primarily available in Gmail. You can go through the email and filter them according to the priority. To make sure your email inbox does not get even messier, unsubscribe the channels or websites that you do not find important any more.

This would also take you down through the memory lane. Once you have cleaned your email box, make sure you read all the notifications and emails as soon as you receive and delete or save them immediately to avoid the chaos. And, do not forget to peek into your hard drive. It would have most of the clutter. Go through all the images, content, documents, and delete the ones that are of no use. While doing so, you might find old forgotten pictures. You can make a collage of them and share with family and friends to take them on a nostalgic trip.

4. Rearrange your Home

Since you would be now spending most of your time at home, it would be better to give it a new look. You can start with your living room and change the positions of the furniture the way you like. Call your family members to help you. This would be a great way to spend family time also. While you cannot travel, by rearranging your home, you will get a vibe of a new location. In a way, you would also deep clean the place for change.

Once this is done, pay attention to your wardrobe. Stack all the essentials clothes nicely and hang all the fancy dresses and denim. While cleaning your wardrobe, you will surely find unused stuff that you have been looking for. Also, you can collect all the clothes, footwear, and accessories that you do not use anymore and give to the needy or send it to the NGO. While doing so, do not put a toll on your health.

5. Practice what you are Passionate About

Next, in our list of things you can do at home during Quarantine, is practicing the things that you are passionate about. Do things that make you happy. For example, if you like photography, you can start taking pictures from different angles, and once you get the hang of it, you can move to a DSLR and click pictures like professionals.

Or else, you can explore new recipes each day and make your family eat delicious food every day. Or, if you want, you can try healthy alternatives of your favorite recipes like a green smoothie so that you do not gain extra weight while you skip your gym session.

Take some time for yourself. Talk to yourself and write the things that have been bothering or the things that you like. Once you have your checklist, you can follow it and make the best of the Quarantine at home with your family. However, look for things that you can do at home only since, for some time, you will not be able to move out.

6. Time to Burst your Stress

For the longest, we all have been juggling to balance work and family life, and while doing our best to make ends meet smoothly, we tend to get overburden and lead a stressful life. And without even knowing our body becomes home to numerous health problems, some of the common are high or low blood pressure, diabetes, and thyroid. This quarantine time can help us to distress ourselves and help us to lead a happy and healthy lifestyle. All you have to do is do things that you like, listen to your favorite music, dance on random songs, and spend quality time with your family, pets, and plants. This could be a golden time for yourself as you would get enough time to spend ‘Me Time’’ and enjoy your own company.

Or, you can simply watch movies like Jab We Met, Tare Zameen Par, Dil Chahta Hai, and other movies that would work as a stress buster for you. Or you can even take the Netflix subscription, and binge watches some of the best content that you have missed so far. Some of the Netflix series that you can watch are Ozark, Better Call Saul, You, Castlevania, I am not Okay with this, Love is Blind and The Witcher.

7. Eat Healthy and Exercise

Since you would not be able to go for gym sessions or other activity classes, take some time for yourself and practice body exercises at home. Spot jogging is one of the best ways to up your energy and maintains weight. Also, you can resort to Yoga. Asanas like Surya Namaskar, Bridge pose, Kapal Bharti at home. Alternatively, you can do exercises like squats, lunges, push-ups, side planks, and jumping jacks. These exercises will help you maintain the ideal weight and also considered to be the best stress busters.
